OpenUp scheme

With the OpenUp scheme, Npuls helps vocational, higher professional and university education institutions to gain more control over the use of digital and open learning materials. This scheme enables educational institutions to further advance learning and working with digital and open learning materials. Npuls provides guidance, cross-fertilisation and knowledge development, as well as a financial contribution. On 10 July 2025, an extension of the current scheme was approved. This brings the total duration of the OpenUp scheme to three years, until 31 August 2027.

Educational resources

Creating, sharing and (re)using digital and Open Educational Resources offers many opportunities for learners, instructors and educational institutions. Educational resources are important for every institution and there is a growing call for taking greater control of educational resources. In order to prevent learners from spending a lot of money on educational resources. But also to promote sustainability by jointly developing educational resources and sharing them openly. In this way, institutions maintain their independence and teachers their autonomy over educational resources.
